Hello there, thanks for dropping by, it's great to meet you!
My name is Jon Harris and I live in the picturesque county of West Yorkshire in the UK. I've had a love of photography ever since I was given a Kodak Instamatic 56X camera as a child. That trusty little camera took 126 cartridge film and enabled me to see the world around me from an entirely new perspective. I've since grown up and gone digital but I still appreciate the basic and fundamental elements of the wonderful art of photography.
I really like to photograph anything that involves the urban environment, whether that be people in the street or buildings and architecture. However I have been known to enjoy photographing the odd landscape too. If there's a scene to be seen, I'll photograph it!
I love black & white photography. There's nothing more satisfying to me than seeing the partnership of light and dark, the way it defines and envisions objects and scenes in a way that colour photographs just can't do. But there are always moments that need to be captured in colour too and in my Colour Portfolio you can see the varied styles and the different emotions that are created by the addition of colour in a scene. My colour photography style is very different, I know that, but I love it. To me it adds another dimension in which the scene pops with a vibrance and a contrast normally unseen by the human eye. I'm also currently enjoying creating Fine Art images, you can see these in my Fine Art Portfolio. This is a new subject for me so please bear with me as I try to perfect this wonderful genre.
I hope you enjoy taking a look at my work and thank you for visiting. If you'd like to get in touch for any reason, please use the form below
